Valley Preferred’s Cycling Teams Make the TopThree in the 2016 Corporate Challenge Race

Friday night, August 12, was hot and humid, but that didn’t distract the riders on two Valley Preferred cycling teams as they set out to triumph over 10 other local company teams in the 2016 Rodale Corporate Challenge. A spill early on left one rider down, and another to take on an extra lap. They both rallied to finish the race and help bring the Valley Preferred teams into the top three at the end of the evening.

Team Y (Captain Angelo Procaccino; Carrie Olson; Jennifer Love; Jed Detrick; Scott Higgins; and Phillip Carson), captured third place, coming in at 2.43.808. Team Z (Captain Sallie Urffer; Kimberly Procaccino; Beth Berger, MD; Mark Li, MD; Daniel Lavelle; and Aaron Czysc, MD) came in second with a time of 2.40.684.

Bicycling magazine’s team placed first with the fastest time of 2.36.075.

The Corporate Challenge has hosted almost 200 teams over the last 17 years, and continues to provide an exciting competitive activity for cycling enthusiasts throughout the Lehigh Valley. The race also gives local corporations an avenue for supporting employee health and fitness.

Valley Preferred thanks its team members for their performance and dedication, and extends its gratitude to Valley Preferred Cycling Center staff for a highly organized and safe race.
