Robert X. Murphy Jr, MD, MS, CPE, FACS

Dr. Murphy oversees Government Affairs, Community Health, Telehealth, Valley Preferred, operations related to LVHN’s Physician Hospital Organization (LVPHO), the LVHN Accountable Care Organization (ACO), and the Lehigh Valley Physician Group (LVPG), and he leads the existing and burgeoning relationships with independent physicians across the region. Also serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Physician Executive for Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), he focuses on accelerating population health strategies and advancing execution of value-based initiatives and programming.

A specialist in Plastic Surgery, Dr. Murphy received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, New York, NY, and a Master of Science from Pennsylvania State University, State College, PA. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in Plastic Surgery and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand (CAQ). He is a Professor of Surgery at Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida. Dr. Murphy is LVHN’s Leonard Parker Pool Chair in Community Health & Health Studies, a Past President of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and a founding member of the International Confederation of Plastic Surgery Societies (ICOPLAST).
