Nina Taggart, MA, MD, MBA, FAAO

A physician executive with extensive clinical and payer relations experience, Dr. Taggart, an ophthalmologist, oversees accountability for both clinical and financial risk in LVPHO’s value based care reimbursement contracts with national insurance providers.

Part of her varied background was serving as physician administrator of population health management at LVHN’s Center for Connected Care & Innovation since 2015. Prior to that, she spent three years as Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Clinical Operations at Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania based in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and six years as Corporate Medical Director and Vice President for Clinical Programs at Allone Health Management Solutions, also in Wilkes-Barre.

Dr. Taggart practices at Eye Care Specialists of Northeastern Pennsylvania, in Hazleton, PA. She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, as well as in Critical Outcomes Reporting Analysis by the Disease Management Purchasing Consortium, and in Health Care Information Technology. Dr. Taggart is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American College of Physician Executives, and is a past board member of the Luzerne County Medical Society.
