Valley Preferred Cycling Center World’s Premiere Bicycle Racing Series Returns for the 39th Season
ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The World Series of Bicycling returns to Valley Preferred Cycling Center in Trexlertown, Pa for the 39th season on Friday, June 6th. The schedule, constructed by Executive Director Marty Nothstein in conjunction with USA Cycling and the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), features a mixture of endurance, sprinting, and community driven events to provide the best field of international and local cyclists in the world.

The month of June features seven UCI races, including two UCI events during the Fuji Super Tuesday series. UCI points must be gained in order to be invited to World Cups, Pan-Am games, and Olympic trials. June’s schedule will attract the best field of male and female international riders in the world. No other track in the world has this amount of UCI races during a single month.
June 6th kicks off the season with the UCI Keirin Cup taking center stage. The UCI U.S. Sprint Gran Prix will be held June 13th, featuring the 200m Match Sprint final for both the men’s and women’s field. June 20th will crown the UCI Fastest Man on Wheels. June wraps up with a gigantic two-day racing event. Friday, June 27th and 28th with the 2014 UCI Festival of Speed.
Racing takes a break for the Independence Day Holiday, picking back up on July 11th with the Tandemonium, and the Second Annual Women’s Open. Other races in July will include the Keystone Cup featuring a team-oriented challenge in which cyclists can form their own teams to compete. On July 25th riders will attempt to break the 15-year old track record in the U.S. 10 – Mile Championship.
August kicks off with the Golden Wheel Race, followed by the International Omnium Championships, and two Community Program driven finals.
The 2014 season wraps up on August 29th with the Madison Cup, Valley Preferred Cycling Center’s oldest and most prestigious race. The Bob Rodale Trophy will be handed out to one team, who will join the list of winners of this 39 year old race.
