Joseph E. Patruno, MD, Chief Wellness Officer, has been practicing at Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) for 20+ years, and served as president of the medical staff from 2016-2018. At that time, he also became chair of the LVHN Wellness Committee, and has since moved to his current role at LVPHO. As Chief Wellness Officer, Dr. Patruno developed and continues to implement the Well-Being Index (WBI), based on a Mayo Clinic survey, which he has used to identify burnout rates and areas needing focus at LVHN. The Wellness Committee reviews the results and works to develop solutions. He has also been instrumental in a peer-to-peer counseling program, developed in concert with LVHN’s behavioral health arm, Preferred EAP.
Dr. Patruno‘s specialty is gynecology, with an emphasis on chronic pelvic pain, office gynecology, vulvar and pelvic floor dysfunction, and endometriosis. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Providence, RI, and completed his residencies in obstetrics and gynecology at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA. Dr. Patruno is a member of the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
