MaryAnne Peifer, MD, MSIS, is an Associate Medical Director of the Lehigh Valley Physician Hospital Organization, Inc./Valley Preferred. She is responsible for developing registries and quality reporting while ensuring clinical integration of best practices. As Associate Director of Clinical Informatics for the Lehigh Valley Physician Group, a not-for-profit subsidiary of Lehigh Valley Health Network and among the largest medical groups in the United States, Dr. Peifer assists with the integration of informatics, including electronic health records (EHRs), in a 500+ multi-specialty physician group. Her team develops and distributes evidence-based quality and operational registries, and is integral in our network’s performance tracking, dashboards and proactive population management.
Dr. Peifer received her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and has been practicing family medicine for 26 years. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Information Systems from Drexel University. Dr. Peifer is certified by the American Board of Family Practice and the American Board of Preventive Medicine, Clinical Informatics. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA).
