Valley Preferred Spirit of Courage
THE 2019 VALLEY PREFERRED SPIRIT OF COURAGE IS SET FOR TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2019!
Last year's Spirit of Courage brought firefighters, patrons, burn survivors, and their families together to honor those who have risked their own lives for the sake of saving another. Each year promises another amazing, emotional night. The 2019 event will feature Greg Stube as guest speaker. Greg is a former Green Beret who fought in the war in Afghanistan and survived multiple serious injries and burns. He has gone on to help inspire reslience and courage in everyone he meets.
Valley Preferred, the Burn Prevention Network, and Lehigh Valley Health Network's Regional Burn Center launched the Valley Preferred Spirit of Courage Award Program in 2005. The idea is to honor people in eastern and northeastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey who have risked their lives to save others from a burn or death by fire. The program also recognizes individuals and groups who have done an outstanding job promoting fire safety or burn prevention education.
